Golfing is an awesome sport that is welcome to both seasoned pros and nervous beginners. There’s nothing better than sipping on a drink while cruising around in your golf cart and hitting a few balls into the sunset. This (hopefully) relaxing activity is fun by yourself or with family and friends. Don't be worried when one of your drives takes a sharp right into the trees--we've all been there, and I've learned to laugh at my bad hits. This makes hitting an amazing drive straight down the fairway an unforgettable experience. Along with having fun is a beautiful sight; nothing beats seeing the green of a golf course. Each course is like a snowflake: as wonderful as the next but unique with all its beautiful qualities.

Below are a few golf courses that I've discovered in Utah.

Timpanogos Golf Club: Provo

The Timpanogos Golf Club is an awesome and well known course in the southern Provo area. This course looks beautiful year round, and for me, it looks its best in the fall. It has this beautiful light green grass for its course with trees that turn a lovely auburn color all around. There's many bodies of water that offer another thing to look at and also another thing to hit your ball into. I'm almost not upset when this happens, though--it gives me a chance to take a moment and truly observe every inch of the course. This course was known as East Bay until a few months ago. Regardless of the name, it's a beautiful course that is perfect for all skill sets.

Schneiter’s Bluff Golf Course: West Point and Riverdale

Considered as Northern Utah's finest golf course, Schneiter's Bluff is so awesome that there needs to be two of them: one in West Point and another in Riverdale. These two golf courses are a wonderful visit for a long day of 18 holes or practicing your drive on their driving range. Schneiter's Bluff has an incredible view of the Salt Lake, Antelope Island and the Wasatch Mountains. Along with the view comes some professionals that are willing to help all skill types to become better golfers. There's an awesome grill (the grilled chicken sandwich is great) and a Pro Shop for all your equipment needs.

Straight Flight Golf: Murray

Straight Flight Golf is an indoor golf simulation facility! This place is definitely worth checking out mainly because you get to focus on and practice your swing in an enjoyable process (without needing to chase those shanked balls out of the water)! If you are a beginner, this is a great place to build your confidence to make you more prepared for a real course. Believe it or not, Straight Flight Golf is also a partner with GetOutPass! Members have a free 30-minute session to get to know the facility and check out how a golf simulator works. Definitely worth your time to check out.

The Barn Golf Course: Ogden

The Barn Golf Club. Just Beautiful.

This simply must be one of the best golf courses in Utah. It's got everything you need: 18 beautiful holes (including the one you're seeing above), two practice greens, a snack bar, a driving range, and an excellent shop to cater to all of your golfing needs. In addition to the golf are other options for entertainment. There's some TVs in the sports pub and billiards as well. If you're desperate for finding a nice venue for your work's weekend fall excursion, a party, or a wedding reception (congrats, by the way), then look no further. They've got you covered. Plus, The Barn Golf Club is available on the GetOutPass. Start practicing your swing for free with us!

Spanish Oaks Golf Course: Spanish Fork

What a unique course this is--it was designed by the one and only Billy Casper, U.S. Open and Masters Champion in a mountain and traditional style. They have tons of catering options for any sort of family gatherings or business parties. This great golf course also offers a killer deal! If you show before 9:00am, you get to golf 9 holes with a golf cart included for $12. Golfing is a blast no matter what, but golfing knowing that you got a great deal is something worth experiencing.

Sand Hollow Resort Golf Course: Hurricane

If you’re a seasoned player willing to dish out some extra cash, this is a beautiful course to visit. Be prepared with some warm weather as it’s deeper into Utah’s desert. Don't fall into the trap of thinking that southern Utah has nothing beautiful to offer--this course has been voted in GolfWeek's top 100 resort courses and as Utah's number 1 course in all of Utah. I wholeheartedly recommend taking a weekend off to go to southern Utah to see the red rock and golf at the same time. You have to see it to believe it, and it's certainly worth your time.

Mulligans Golf: South Jordan

Last (but certainly not least) is a golf course close to Salt Lake City. It’s right off I-15 in South Jordan and has some great prices and deals. The course has some awesome features: natural and artificial grass, a driving range, two 9 hole course,  and a double decker practice tee that is available year round, thanks to their covered heating areas. They also offer a huge mini golf course and batting cages! If you make your way to this course, be prepared to spend all day there with endless entertainment.
