A day to honor all things art, from painting and sculpture to film and photography. If you're a Warren Buffett-level art collector or just like to dabble, there's no reason not to get in on the fun.

National World Art Day was created as a way to promote and encourage the appreciation of all forms of visual arts. It was declared by the International Association of Art in 2012 and has been celebrated annually ever since. The date was chosen in honor of Leonardo da Vinci, one of the most famous and influential artists of all time.

Take some time today to celebrate art in all its forms! Visit a museum, go see a play, or simply enjoy the beauty of nature. And don't forget to create something yourself. After all, art is for everyone!

How To Celebrate National World Art Day

No matter what your reason, make sure to celebrate World Art Day this year! There are plenty of ways to get involved and show your support for the arts. Here are just a few ideas:

Attend an art event near you

Many museums and galleries offer special events and activities on World Art Day. This is a great way to support your local scene and see some amazing art at the same time.

Make some art of your own

Express and exercise your creativity today!

It doesn't matter if you're a seasoned artist or a complete novice – everyone can create something beautiful. Use this day as an excuse to get creative and try out a new medium or technique.

Share your love of art with others

Spread the word about World Art Day on social media, or even better – introduce someone to your favorite artist or artwork. Share your favorite piece of art using the hashtag #WorldArtDay. The arts deserve your support, and this is a great way to promote this special day.

Donate to a local arts organization

If you're feeling generous, why not make a donation to an organization that supports the arts? The act of preserving art is an excellent way to ensure future generations will be able to benefit from it as we do.

Attend a play, ballet, or other performing arts event

These are forms of art as well, and attending one of these events is a great way to show your appreciation and see some incredible talent at the same time.

Check out some public art

Many cities have amazing public art displays that are free to enjoy. Take some time to explore your local area and see what hidden gems you can find.

Buy some art pieces

Why Do We Love Art?

Art makes us feel

It is a language we all understand, whether we realize it or not. It can be an expression of our innermost thoughts and emotions or a representation of the world around us. Art can affect us in every way, from making us laugh, and cry or persuade us to think. It has the power to touch us on a level that nothing else can.

Art has the ability to bring people together

Art can bring people with different perspectives together.

Whether it's appreciating a piece of art together or working on a project together, art can help to build bridges between people. It can break down barriers and help us see the world from a different perspective.

Art generates love for learning and creativity

We learn so much from art. It helps us to understand different cultures and times in history. It can also show us different ways of seeing the world and help us to develop our own creative voices.

Art improves focus and hand-eye coordination and helps teach problem-solving

If you are doing painting, sculpting, or simply doodling, the act of creating art can help to improve your focus and concentration. It also requires us to use both our hands and our eyes, which helps to develop hand-eye coordination. And as we create, we often have to solve problems in order to figure out the best way to achieve our desired results.

Art can be therapeutic

For many people, art is a form of therapy. It can be a way to express ourselves when we don't have the words or a way to process our emotions. It can be a form of self-care, helping us to relax and unwind. And it can also be a way to connect with others when we're feeling isolated or alone.
