Tennessee is a beautiful state that offers a wide variety of attractions that will be sure to impress even the most jaded traveler. Whether it's the mountains, the lakes, or the rivers, there is plenty to do in Tennessee. You'll find a state filled with great food, great music, great art, great scenery, and great people.

Tennessee is a great place to visit because it has so much to offer. It's full of amazing activities and wonderful places to explore. And if you're planning on visiting Tennessee for a vacation, we've put together a list of the top 8 reasons why you should go.

Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum

Your visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is an experience that you'll never forget in your life. You'll start on the third floor and work your way down to the first floor where the exit is, which is very smart. The displays are incredible!

If you love older Country music, then this place will not disappoint. It showcases costumes and outfits Country stars have worn over the past several years. You'll love seeing how fashion has changed and the details in the clothing. Martina McBride's section is one of our personal favorites. Make sure you budget enough time to explore the whole place!

Grand Ole Opry

The Grand Ole Opry is an Americana institution that has been a Nashville mainstay for nearly a century. Opry is located inside Ryman Auditorium, where the famous Grand Ole Opry stage show is held each week. And since 2001, this place has been designated as a National Historic Landmark for its pivotal role in the development of Country music.

Graceland

Formerly owned by none other than Elvis Presley, Graceland is a mansion situated on a huge parcel of land. It was opened as a museum on 1982 and rose as the most visited privately owned home in the whole country.

You definitely could easily spend an entire day here. You'll be amazed to see especially the older memorabilia and the home video footage on several screens throughout the tour. You'll also be able to see the planes Elvis Presley used on his travels. Overall, it's a wonderful tour!

Cades Cove

Cades Cove is a very picturesque place that sits in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains. It's a hidden gem because it's an isolated valley near Smoky Mountain National Park.

You'll never know what you'll see in this place. There are times when you will see horses, bears, and turkeys; there are others when you will see some deer and other wildlife.

What we can be sure about though is it's fun to watch the animals while driving through. It's a big loop drive, and there are places where you can park and take pictures. There are also old settler houses which you could see while driving through the loop.

National Civil Rights Museum

This museum is the absolute best historic museum ever. Every single American should visit this museum because it's a world-class experience with interactive exhibits, fascinating artifacts from history, and various sound clips, videos, and movies. They also showcase different historical recreations of civil rights movement pieces from the real stories that have been preserved.

You will never experience the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the lives he touched as you will here. It is a beautiful testimony to the amazing life he lived and to many of the women, teens, and other men and allies of the history of the United States who have fought for our civil rights and freedoms.

We recommend that you plan two to three hours to really read and absorb this experience. You won't regret it!

Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay

Located in Louisville, Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay is an amusement and water park where you can have an awesome time with your friends and family. It's extremely busy on weekends though, so we recommend that you visit on the weekdays if you have the time.

This place has six roller coasters, all of them pretty solid in their goals. For thrill-seeker, coaster-loving enthusiasts, it has two very good rides -- Lightning Run and Storm Chaser. The kids' section is also fairly big, with several attractions, and Hurricane Bay, the water park, can give you some relief from the heat this summer.

Of course, they can name it just Soar Adventure Tower, but the adventure this place provides can't be contained within a single capital letter. SOAR Adventure Tower will ensure you'll have the most memorable and safest climbing facility you'll ever try in your life. They have some very unique obstacles like a floating picnic table and a floating canoe. They also offer a zip line adventure and a mini golf course.
